Bamboo House of The Dai ethnic group

Bamboo House is the typical building of The Dai ethnic group. The first layer is about seven or eight feet tall, with no obstruction around, Cattle and horse tied on a pillar in general. A gazebo near the staircase in upper story, with the fence separating the master bedroom and storing something important, another is a big room which roof is not high, without windows generally.

There is a fireplace which burning alive in the central. The roof was covered by couch grass; all things are made of bamboo. The construction process is very easy, just need to cut bamboo, invited the neighbors to help, a few days can be done; but the bamboo house also easy to decay, people in need of repair after the rainy season.

Walk in the Dai stockaded village, you can see the rows of tall cactus surrounded by walls. The cactus covered with thorns, may be more effective to protect the house. In fact, Dai People’s door is rarely locked. So, that's covered in spiny cactus can only be decorations of subtropical plant.
